Flavivirus neurological disease in horses
You may or may not be aware of the recent increase in neurological disease in horses, due to a flavivirus carried by mosquitoes.
You may wish to inform your members that further information is available at Go to Pests diseases
Fortunately as cooler weather sets in this will reduce the mosquito population, and therefore the risk of disease. Anyone who suspects that their horse is affected by this disease should contact their veterinarian promptly.
It is now complusory to thoroughly clean the yards after your horse including your rubbish or you will be fined. The committee will inspect your yard/area for cleaniness.

The General Meeting was held on the 12th May 2012. The Annual General Meeting will be held on Saturday 14th of June at 6pm at the Olde Narrogin Inne.

Perth Royal Show
Congratulations to Shane & Andrea Fuchsbichler on their win at the Perth Royal Show with their lovely mare Benwerrin Olivia.
Results of the Perth Royal will follow shortly.
High Point Competitions 2011-12
The High Point competition is held annually to encourage CCHS members to get out and show their horses in as many shows as possible. This year the High Points competition will have 2 sections. High Point Halter and High Point Harness Working competition. The Halter competitions will run the same as last year. The Harness Working competition is open to horses competing in any harness event and the points will be awarded to the Driver.
This year any show counts for points as follows...
1st - 3 points
2nd - 2 points
3rd - 1 point
The Perth Royal Show will count for double points
Members must have the following form signed by the judge and submit it to Skye Coffey at for points to be counted. Download Form here
No form no points. Harvey Agricultural Show, Dardanup Heavy Horse Show and the Perth Royal Show do not require the form.
