About Us
The Ray White Rural Fountain & Co and Ray White Bowral franchises are owned and operated by Fountain & Co Pty Ltd, a family business created in 1944, but which traces back to 1909 when Mr L.J. Flanagan commenced activities in the central western NSW town of Grenfell.
At about the same time (in 1902) a young Ray White was also starting his business off in the western Queensland town of Thargomindah and not long after he moved it to the Darling Downs township of Crows Nest where ”The Shed” (pictured left), his now famous original office, still stands in the Crows Nest Historical Village, having been found on a local farm and renovated by the White family a decade or so ago.
Thus it is, whilst Fountain & Co Pty Ltd have previously owned Ray White Franchises in the form of Ray White Auctions (NSW), Ray White Rural Rockhampton and Ray White Stud Stock Qld, the move to the beautiful Southern Highlands was made in 2007 and once again Fountain & Co and the Ray White Group are on the same team.
Ray White Rural Fountain & Co and Ray White Bowral Principal Tony Fountain is no stranger to the Southern Highlands and other parts of southern NSW, having auctioned over the years for studs such as King Ranch, Iona Park, etc. and worked closely with earlier Ray White offices in the area through his role as National Chief Auctioneer.
As Tony says: "Ray White Rural Fountain & Co and Ray White Bowral are all about an agency with integrity and product knowledge, based on good, old fashioned agency service. The Fountain family prides itself that during the 64 years they have been in the agency business, they are 100% personal service based. It is more than a catch-cry, it is a tradition!"
