Stud Stock
The Fountain family have had a long association with the Australian and New Zealand stud stock industry.
Ray White Rural Fountain & Co Principal Tony Fountain has been involved since the 1960’s as:
- stud cattle breeder – he conducted the Jungara Poll Shorthorn Stud at Grenfell from 1967-1972. It was one of the first beef cattle studs to introduce performance recording as a management and selection tool
- beef cattle judge – he has judged Shorthorn cattle up to, and including, Royal Show level
- auctioneer – he has auctioned pedigreed cattle and horses in every State and Territory of Australia. Fountain & Co Pty Ltd in the 1970-80’s (prior to owning the Ray White Auctions NSW franchise and moving to Sydney) were the leading pleasure horse auctioneers in Australia and amongst the leading Shorthorn agents, selling in three States.
As Tony says "our agency is, and always has been, based on personal service and product knowledge and whilst technology and its usage is playing an ever increasingly important role, those two planks will never change".
